Gloria in excelsis,

1 Angel voices still are singing
far away and yet so near.
Hear the message they are bringing:
“God is with us! Never fear!”
God is with us when we worry
over things we can’t control,
when we rush around and hurry
after one more worthy goal.

2 God is with us when we falter
and succumb to human greed,
when we kneel before the altar,
and confess each selfish deed.
God is with us here, forgiving
us our weakness, doubt, and fears,
in the stress of daily living,
drying disappointed tears.

Celebrate this love amazing,
That takes all our cares away.
Join with angels now in praising
“God with us” this joyful day.
