Text: | No Shelter but in Christ |
Author: | James L. Smith |
Tune: | [There is no shelter for the soul] |
Composer: | Jno. R. Sweney |
1 There is no shelter for the soul
On earth, in heav’n above,
No shelter but in Christ the Lord,
No refuge but His love.
Refrain:
Then fly to the ark where the weary dove
Came back to the place of rest;
O fly to the arms, to the sheltering arms,
Of the Saviour that loves thee best!
2 There is no shelter from the storm
That frowns above our head,
But in the Lamb of Calvary,
Whose blood for all was shed. [Refrain]
3 There is no refuge but in Christ,
Tho’ we the world should gain;
The soul without His grace is lost;
All other hope is vain. [Refrain]
