1 The Lord of life, with glory crowned,
On heaven's exalted throne,
Forgets not those, for whom on earth
He heaved His dying groan.
2 His greatness now no tongue of man
Or seraph bright can tell;
Yet still the chief of all His joys,
That souls are saved from hell.
3 For this He taught, and toiled, and bled;
For this His life was giv'n;
For this He fought, and vanquished death;
For this He reigns in heav'n.
4 Join, all ye saints beneath the sky,
Your grateful praise to give;
Sing loud hosannas to His name,
With whom you too shall live.
