Text: | Sunlight on the Hill |
Author: | George Orlia Webster |
Tune: | [Breaking thro’ the clouds above us] |
Composer: | Grant Colfax Tullar |
1 Breaking thro’ the clouds above us,
Oft we see a ray of light,
And we know beyond the earth-mist,
Is a place where all is bright.
Refrain:
Faith can always pierce the clouds which gather,
Hope will guide us where we cannot see,
Love will point us to a glad tomorrow,
In a bright eternity.
Tho’ the mists may often fill the valley,
There is always sunlight on the hill,
Let us take the paths to higher levels,
‘Tis our blessed heav’nly Father’s will.
2 Sometimes clouds of sorrow gather,
Each must have his “rainy day,”
But the sun is somewhere shining,
And our clouds will break away. [Refrain]
3 Faith can always see the hilltop,
Tho’ the mists are cold and gray,
Faith can borrow from the brightness
Of the coming cloudless day. [Refrain]
