1 Adown thru all the years before us,
Along the path we cannot see,
There streams a light so radiant o’er us,
From the cross of Calvary.

Refrain:
The cross, the cross of Jesus!
There He died for you, and me;
Thru joy or grief in this I’m trusting,
The cross of Calvary.

2 A light the sun can never borrow,
A light that glows o’er land and sea,
Will ever shine thru joy or sorrow,
From the cross of Calvary. [Refrain]

3 Then lift the cross and tell its story,
And all the world shall be made free,
As they behold the wondrous glory,
