8004. O Wondrous Cross

1 Upon the cross my Savior died,
And for my sins was crucified;
His love so great, how can it be,
My Savior died, yes, died for me.

Refrain:
O wondrous cross, O Calvary,
My longing eyes look up to thee;
O wondrous cross where Jesus died
And for my sins was crucified.

2 I sought at length His pardon free,
I gained at once sweet liberty;
E’en now by faith I claim Him mine,
I am redeemed by grace divine. [Refrain]

3 Upon the cross of Calvary
His blood was shed, was shed for me;
O precious fount, thy cleansing power,
I need thy healing every hour. [Refrain]

4 I’ll sing His power while I have breath,
I’ll sing His glory after death;
Redeemed, redeemed, I know I’m free;
I’ve peace with God and liberty. [Refrain]
