743. Can Jesus See and Hear?

1. When little children do the wrong,
And do not wish the Lord’s to be—
Does He behold their every deed?
Can Jesus see? Can Jesus see?

2. When little children falsely speak,
Or take in vain that name so dear,
Though all unheard, their words may seem,
Can Jesus hear? Can Jesus hear?

3. When little children, in their hearts,
Give evil thoughts a chance to grow,
Ere yet their bitter fruits they bear,
Can Jesus know? Can Jesus know?

4. Yes, Jesus sees our every deed,
And hears each word our lips let fall;
He knows our every secret thought,
And He by these will judge us all.
