16443. The Night Was Dark And Stormy

1 The night was dark and stormy,
It was the winter wild;
But in a humble stable
There lay a holy child.
And wise men from afar
Came journeying to worship
Led by a wondrous star.

2 And in the fields the shepherds
Were watching thro’ the night,
When suddenly around them
There shone a radiance bright
As though it were the dawn;
And angels sang together
That Jesus Christ was born.

3 And Jesus brought glad tidings
To all the sons of men—
"In every child forever
God’s love is born again."
So on this Christmas morn
In every heart that loves Him
The dear Christ child is born.
