15382. I Am A Little Soldier

1 I am a little soldier,
And but a few years old;
I mean to fight for Jesus,
And wear a crown of gold.
I know He makes me happy,
And loves me all the day;
I’ll be His little soldier,
The Bible says I may.

2 I love my blessèd Jesus,
Because He first loved me;
And if I do not fear Him,
How wicked I would be.
He gives me all the comfort
That I enjoy this day;
I mean to live for Jesus,
In all I do or say,

3 I now can do but little,
Yet I’ll do all I can;
That when my life is ended,
I may be happy then.
God help to keep me earnest,
In all I do or say;
I want to work for Jesus,
For He’s the Truth, the Way.
