13589. Dare To Do Right

1 If fiery temptations encompass thy soul,
And high dashing passion waves over thee roll,
Be strong in the Lord,
In the strength of His might,
Gird on the whole armor, and dare to do right.

Refrain:
Dare to do right, yes, dare to do right,
Gird on the whole armor, and dare to do right.

2 If darkness o’ertake thee and dangers appall,
Remember thine armor is proof against all,
And strong supplication
Will banish the night,
Then gird on the armor and dare to do right. [Refrain]

3 The Word is the sword which the Spirit doth wield,
Salvation and faith are its helmet and shield;
The breastplate of righteousness
Prayer will keep bright,
Gird on the whole amor and dare to do right. [Refrain]
