13108. O What Have I Done?

1 When the golden sun from my sight’s descended,
And I turn from earth and its cares away,
Often to my mind comes the solemn question,
O what have I done for the Lord today?

Refrain:
O what have I done to advance His kingdom?
Have I sought one soul from the fold astray?
Have I sowed good seed, or been standing idle?
O what have I done for the Lord today?

2 With my words and deeds I have biased others;
How it fills my soul with untold dismay!
Tho’ I would recall, they remain forever;
O what have I done for the Lord today? [Refrain]

3 Have I honored God with my earnest efforts,
Striving His commands ever to obey?
Toiling in His name, praising Him for blessings,
O what have I done for the Lord today? [Refrain]
