11808. Hear Ye Him

1 While the Shepherd is calling,
O Lamb gone astray,
To the sheltering fold return;
Hear ye Him, and the wonderful summons obey,
Nor the joy of salvation spurn!

Refrain:
Hear ye Him, hear ye Him,
He is calling you, wayward one;
Hear ye Him, hear ye Him,
Christ, the Father’s belovèd Son.

2 "Hear ye Him,: is the Father’s entreaty divine,
To each pilgrim who journeys here;
O believe His sweet message, sin’s folly resign,
And accept Him with love sincere! [Refrain]

3 He is bidding you now to the harvest so white,
There to gather the fallen grain;
Hear ye Him, and with reapers of courage unite,
And bright sheaves for His kingdom gain. [Refrain]

4 When the tempest is raging and dark is the night,
Still the Savior is kindly near;
Hear ye Him, as He murmurs, Fear not, I’m the light,
And to safety your bark will steer. [Refrain]
