1 The sunshine I have found
Will fill each day with joy,
And every moment sweetly bless;
The rays that gently fall
Upon my daily path
Are given by the Sun of Righteousness.
Refrain:
So if the sky is dark,
And if the day is dreary,
The sun is shining somewhere,
This I know, I know;
And so to keep my heart
From ever growing weary,
I’ll carry my sunshine with me
Everywhere I go.
2 Look up and praise the Lord!
The flowers need the rain
That falls upon them day by day;
Just as our thirsty souls
Would seek the cooling springs
If we were walking in a desert way. [Refrain]
3 But for the child of God,
There always is a ray
That struggles thro’ the clouds above;
That shines across his path
And keeps his wavering faith
To rest securely in a Father’s love. [Refrain]
4 It is the light that shines,
When Jesus speaks to me
And tells me I am saved by grace;
The sunshine I have found
Is free to all who seek,
The sunshine of my blessèd Savior’s face. [Refrain]
