Text: | The Daylight Fades |
Author: | Thomas O. Summers, 1812-1882 |
Tune: | EVENING |
Composer: | Jeremiah Franklin Ohl |
Media: | MIDI file |
1 The daylight fades, the evening shades
Are gathering round my head;
Father above, I praise that love
Which nightly guards my bed.
2 While Thou art near, I need not fear,
The gloom of midnight hour;
Blest Jesus, still from every ill
Defend me with Thy power!
3 Pardon my sin, and enter in
To sanctify my heart;
Spirit divine, O make me Thine,
And ne’er from me depart!
