1 Ye tribes of earth, in God rejoice;
His presence hail, with thankful voice;
To him your willing homage pay,
And wake the tributary lay;
Submissive to his will, in him
Behold the God of Gods supreme.
2 With conscious wonder oft survey'd,
He, not ourselves, our frame has made;
The subjects of his pow'r we stand,
The sheep that own his guiding hand;
O enter then his gates with praise,
To him your loudest accents raise.
3 With grateful hearts his love proclaim,
And bless, O bless his awful name;
For truth in him, and mercy, live;
That truth shall time itself survive;
That mercy, thro' the length of days,
Unclouded, pour its healing rays.
