Tune: | [Around the cross we stand] |

1 Around the cross we stand,
In Jesus’ gospel light,
A loyal Christian band
Preparing for the fight;
Our Leader is the King
Of earth and worlds above,
Whose praise uplifted nations sing,
Whose banner bright is love.
Refrain:
Around the cross we proudly stand,
While rings our war-cry “Loyalty!”
Unto our King’s command,
We’ll faithful prove to Him above,
For He alone to glory leads
Whose banner bright is love.
2 Within these sacred walls
Where He His truth imparts,
His voice like music falls
Upon each trustful heart;
And here the way of life
He traces for our feet,
And girds our spirits for the fight
With wisdom most complete. [Refrain]
3 The foe we shall not fear,
Upon the battle field,
For Jesus will be near,
To help us not to yield;
His love will keep us strong,
Until the strife is done,
Until we sing the victor’s song
And life’s bright crown is won. [Refrain]
