18. Holy Spirit, Living Water

1 Holy Spirit, living water,
O refresh my thirsty soul;
Let the billows of Thine ocean
Over me in cleansing roll.

Refrain:
With Thyself, the holy unction,
Now anoint my head and heart,
And endue me with that power
Which alone Thou canst impart.

2 Wash me, Holy Spirit, wash me,
Till each stain be white as snow;
Be within a well of water,
Fill me now, and overflow. [Refrain]

3 O impart that heav’nly wisdom,
Pure and peaceable and kind;
Wisdom which has no dissembling,
An impartial, lowly mind. [Refrain]
