CXXXIII. To the Corinthian Church

1 To the Corinthian Church,
Saint Paul these words address'd:
I thank my God, ye are enrich'd
In all that makes you bless'd.

2 I thank my God always
Repeatedly he said,
That God hath granted you such grace,
For which I humbly pray'd.

3 He labour'd not in vain
When he taught them the word;
O happy when the work shews plain!
That it is of the Lord.

4 This grace to them confirm'd,
That Jesus was their friend;
And that he fully was determin'd
To guard them to the end.

5 Then let us watch and pray,
And keep to Jesus near;
That when he comes in that great day,
We may with joy appear.
