CCXXXVII | Church Hymn Book#CCXXXVIII | CCXXXIX |
1 God hath laid up in heav'n for me,
A crown which cannot fade;
The righteous Judge at that great day,
Shall place it on my head.
2 Nor hath the King of grace decreed
This prize for me alone;
But all that love and long to see
Th'appearance of his Son.
3 There where my blessed Jesus reigns,
In heav'ns unmeasur'd space;
I'll spend a long eternity
In never ceasing praise.
4 Dear Jesus, ev'ry smile of thine
Shall fresh endearments bring;
And thousand tastes of new delight
From all thy graces spring.
5 Haste, my beloved, fetch my soul
Up to thy blest abode;
Haste, for my spirit longs to be
With thee, my Lord and God.
