182. Dear Canada

1 Dear Canada, our homeland,
We proudly sing of thee,
Beneath the flag we love so well,
The banner of the free,
With red like autumn maples,
and white like winter snow,
And blue like waters deep and wide
When summer breezes blow.

2 On plain and hill and mountain,
By river, lake, and sea,
One voice we raise to sing thy praise,
O land of liberty;
From ocean unto ocean,
Wherever we may be,
With loving heart we'll do our part
To keep thee ever free.

3 Fair nation of the northland,
Where friendly people dwell,
Where every day, at work or play,
Brings health and joy as well,
In every word and action,
No matter where we roam,
We will be true and loyal to
Our own Canadian home.

4 May God to our dear homeland
His favour now extend,
Upon our great Dominion far
His richest blessings send.
Grant, God, that in our bound'ries
Thy name be held supreme.
May we obey Thy precepts, and
Pay homage to our Queen.
