137. Why Not Receive Him?

1 The Prince of glory left His throne,
The sinner's friend to be;
His holy brown with thorns was crowned,
He died on Calvary:
He suffered thus for thee.

Chorus:
Why not receive Him?
Why not believe Him?
While He is calling,
calling today;
I will receive Him,
I will believe Him;
While He is calling,
I'll trust in Him today.

2 He feeds the hungry soul with bread
From life's eternal tree,
And bids the thirsty spirit drink
From living fountains, free:
He offers this to thee. [Chorus]

3 He dwells before the great white throne,
For needy souls to pray;
He pleads for those to come to Him,
Who did their Lord betray:
He calleth thee today. [Chorus]
