50. Go, and Sin no more

1 How sweet the gentle Savior's voice
Upon the anxious ear;
those words that bid the heart rejoice,
and banish every fear.
It drives the shadows from the brow,
The burden from the heart,
To hear Him say, "Come unto Me,
All sinful as thou art."

Refrain:
"Thy guilt shall all be washed away
In my atoning blood,
For "neither do I condemn thee,"
Then "Go, and sin no more."

2 How sweet the words of heav'nly love
Like Seraph's songs I hear;
the words of melting tenderness,
Fall on my list'ning ear.
When sorrow fills my soul with gloom,
And night o'erspreads the sky,
My hope, my joy and comfort spring
From wells that never dry. [Refrain]

3 "If from the pathway thou should'st stray,
I will thy feet restore;
I came to pity not condemn,
Repent, and sin no more."
Tho' weak and sinful I may be,
And far away from God,
I'll trust His promises of grace,
And His atoning blood. [Refrain]
