589. God's Church is one, His blessed Son

1 God's Church is one, His blessed Son
The great Foundation is;
His life to share, His name to wear,
No other Name but His.

2 One Lord to save, one cleansing wave,
One resurrection ground,
Identified with Christ the Lord,
New life in Him is found.

3 His Church must own His word alone,
"One Faith," no room for strife;
He is our Creed, our every need,
The holy Word of Life.

4 Together we for unity
Will labour, work and pray;
All who are His should strive for this
With all their heart each day.

5 What holy joy to hus employ
Our time and strength for God,
Our Saviour's plea for unity
To press with one accord.
