1 We praise Thee, Lord, for love which Thou hast given,
So deep and true that it entwines the heart;
And draws two people closely to each other
Binding them strongly until death doth part.
We thank Thee, Lord, that in Thy sovereign way
Thou hast ordained this marriage here today.
2 O God they consecrate themselves to Thee,
Guard, hallow and perfect this love we pray;
And keep it pure until eternity,
As they rely on Thee from day to day.
May their whole life be found in Christ the Lord,
To glorify Him by their deed and word.
3 Now let Thy blessing rest upon this union;
When shadows come, we pray their faith remain.
Increase their joy as on life's road they tread:
Through height and valley, sickness, grief or pain
Guide and sustain and have their strength restored,
And grant them grace, through Jesus Christ, our Lord.
