1 Amazing grace!--how sweet the sound--
That saved a soul like me!
I once was lost, but now am found,
Was blind, but now I see.
2 'Twas grace that taught my heart to fear,
'Twas grace my fears relieved;
How precious did that grace appear,
The hour I first believed!
3 Full many a danger, toil, and snare
My soul has overcome;
'Tis grace that brought me safe thus far,
And grace will lead me home.
4 And when this flesh and heart shall fail,
And mortal life shall cease,
I shall possess within the veil
A life of joy and peace.
