Text: | March With Happy Song |

Tune: | [Forward march with steady tread] |

1 Forward march with steady tread
The trumpet call obeying,
For Christ the Lord is at the head,
Let no one be delaying,
Fear no foe as forth you go,
Cease not to watch and pray,
Obey the word of Christ the Lord,
Let nothing make you stray.
Refrain:
Then march along, with happy song,
Spreading joy and gladness,
The Lord is near with words of cheer,
Gone is ev’ry sadness,
And while you sing for Christ the King,
Holding high the cross,
He leads the way each passing day,
You’ll never suffer loss.
2 Forward march in bright array,
Do battle for the Master,
For Satan’s host must all be lost
And scattered in disaster,
In the fight with arm of might,
Your strength the Lord will give
And then at last, when life is past,
With Christ you’ll ever live. [Refrain]
3 Forward march ye hosts of God,
The Saviour speaks, O hear Him,
With victor’s song and courage strong,
His army shall draw near Him,
When battle’s done and vict’ry won,
The Saviour shall reward,
He’ll bid you all with loving call,
“Come dwell with me thy Lord.” [Refrain]
