39. Heavenly Father

1 Heav’nly Father, bless Thy children,
As we worship Thee today;
Fill each heart with joy and fervor,
As we sing or as we pray.
Heav’nly Father, bless Thy children,
Teach, oh teach us how to pray;
May we love and serve Thee ever,
Daily tread the narrow way.

2 Heav’nly Father, make us thankful,
For the blessings Thou doth give;
And the promise, if we’re faithful
We shall come with Thee and live.
Heav’nly Father, all we ask Thee
Is in the dear Saviour’s name,
Who came down to earth from Heaven,
To relieve from sin and shame.

3 Heav’nly Father, bless Thy children,
Ere we leave Thy house today;
Fill us with Thy Holy Spirit
Saviour wash our sins away.
Heav’nly Father, may we praise Thee,
Thou the Spirit, Three in One
And when earthly cares are ended,
Hear the blessed words “well done.”
