Text: | We are trav'ling Home |
Author: | Fanny J. Crosby |
Tune: | [We are traveling home to a goodly land] |
Composer: | Jno. R. Sweney |
1 We are trav’ling home to a goodly land,
Where our loved have gone before;
They have fought the fight, they have kept the faith,
And have reached the golden shore.
Refrain:
They are watching, watching for the boat
That shall come to bear us o’er the sea;
When our work is done and our crown is won,
Shat a meeting, what a meeting there will be!
2 We are trav’ling home in the path they trod,
And our hearts with joy o’erflow,
For we trace the prints of their pilgrim feet,
As they journeyed long ago. [Refrain]
3 We are trav’ling home in the King’s highway
To his realm so bright and fair;
And he cheers us on with the happy thought,—
There will be no sorrow there. [Refrain]
4 We are trav’ling home to a goodly land,
That is clothed in fadeless bloom,
It was bought by him who has conquered death,
And is victor o’er the tomb. [Refrain]
