Text: | An Open Door |
Author: | C. B. Kendall |
Tune: | [An open door, O, blessed thought] |
Composer: | Jno. R. Sweney |
1 An open door, Oh, blessed thought!
And may not I look in,
And see the joys in that bright world
Of those who’re saved from sin?
Refrain:
Oh, for me there’s an open door,
To that bright world above!
And I may enter, and be at rest
In my Redeemer’s love.
2 There, seated on his great white throne,
We see our glorious King,
Surrounded by a happy host,
Whose songs make heaven ring. [Refrain]
3 The saints are crowned within that door,
And clothed with garments white,
And conquering palms they bear aloft,
In that blest world of light. [Refrain]
4 The dear ones who have left us here
Are resting there above,
And now they bathe their weary souls
In seas of heavenly love. [Refrain]
