Text: | Poor and Needy |
Author: | Ada R. Habershon |
Tune: | [Until He showed His riches] |
Composer: | B. D. Ackley |
1 Until He showed His riches,
I dreamed not of my need;
A sight of Him has taught me,
That I am poor indeed.
Refrain:
I know I am poor and needy,
Yet this is just my plea;
Tho’ I am poor and needy
My Saviour thinks of me.
2 A weak and earthen vessel,
Which He Himself has made;
While I am poor and empty,
His fullness is displayed. [Refrain]
3 Because I’m poor and needy,
I need my Lord so much;
But yet, the Bible tells me
He’s looking out for such. [Refrain]
4 Although I’m poor and needy,
He needs my poverty;
Thro’ me to show His riches,
To all eternity. [Refrain]
