When I search for hymns related to 1 Kings 22:24-40 (a daily lectionary reading in the coming week, dealing with the death of King Ahab) the only thing that comes up is “Elijah was a man who spoke for God”, which is not linked to that reading; the Scripture references noted for it are

The scripture passages come directly from the hymnals. The hymnal probably wanted to include the span of Elijah's life as a prophet; however I have changed it to include through chapter 19 since the song talks about Elijah as a prophet, Elijah against the prophets of Baal, and Elisha succeeding Elijah.
